Utah: What Hunters Should Know for 2022 Deer and Elk Hunts
Utah: What Hunters Should Know for 2022 Deer and Elk Hunts

SALT LAKE CITY — Several years of ongoing drought conditions have impacted mule deer populations across the state. Here are a few things people hunting deer and elk in Utah this fall should know.

Drought impacts deer by decreasing their body fat (because there are fewer plants and available food sources on the landscape). If the does have poor body fat and nutrition, it leads to smaller fawns, and those fawns have a decreased chance of surviving. If an adult deer has too little body fat at the beginning of the winter — especially a severe winter — it will often not survive the winter months. Recent deer research, conducted in Utah, has shown that the amount of fat deer have going into the winter has more of an impact on their likelihood to survive than the conditions and severity of the winter itself. Women’s Outdoor Media Association Announces
Have you met my friend Mia? She’s pretty awesome…

I don’t have a lot of friends.

I just don’t.  Friendships require a lot of work and can create a lot of stress in your life when you’re already being pulled in 100 different directions. It’s pretty rare that I let anyone in.

The outdoor industry however, has introduced me to some of the best people on earth. People with the same values, passions, ambition and also the same time constraints.

It’s always amazing that you can form a strong friendship with someone you see once a year…if that! Read More

Cross-Country Skiing Wisconsin’s Northwoods – Six Spots For Frozen Fun

MADISON, Wis. (December 22, 2016) – Wisconsin’s northwoods hold a few advantages when it comes to cross-country skiing. First, winter has staying power here. The snows come early and often don’t know when to quit – of course, for winter warriors, that’s one of our more endearing qualities. Secondly, the vast majority of the state’s northwoods is protected land, including county, state and national forests, leaving hundreds of thousands of acres pristine and perfect for exploring. His and Hers Outdoors TV Season 5 Press Release Promo
Season 5 of His & Hers Outdoors TV to Premier on the Pursuit Channel

It is well known that I don’t care for most hunting tv shows out there.  I don’t care for the phoniness, or the high fence kills made to look like public land, I don’t care for the chest thumping and the egos and I definitely do not care for the “Good ‘ol Boys Club” mentality.

But I do watch a handful of hunting shows that have proven over time to produce exceptional content.  His & Hers TV is one of them.  I highly recommend you check them out this season.  ~CarrieZ
