Destination Review: Haven by the Falls, Mercer, Wisconsin

Recently I stayed at Haven by the Falls in Mercer, Wisconsin. The local area is heavily wooded and the privately located side by side duplex sits on the water near the small falls. If you are into hunting, fishing or anything outside it can be done from this centrally located property. The parking outside has plenty of room to accommodate boat trailers, other larger trailers or multiple vehicles. I found the property to rate at 3 out of 5. It is fairly average for condition and rates but could use improvements.

Lodging Review Haven by the Falls, Mercer, Wisconsin 001The larger side of the duplex has 3 nice sized bedrooms with a total of 4 beds. One bedroom has two full size beds and the other rooms have one full size bed each. All the bedrooms have bedside tables, lamps and are fully furnished. Views out of the bedroom windows showcase the side yard except one bedroom which overlooks the front yard and woods across the street.

The floor plan includes a wood burning fireplace at one end of the living area. A full couch and love seat, plus rocking chair provide plenty of seating. The walls are decorated nicely in tongue and groove pine from floor to ceiling. A flat screen tv and dvd player sit above the fireplace. Some movies and books for reading can be found on a bookcase in the corner. The living room has a nice sliding patio door leading onto the back deck where you can walk onto the outdoor deck area equipped with a charcoal grill.

The kitchen is large and open with plenty of working space and counter area. All the pots and pans and utensils you’ll need are already there so packing to stay is that much easier. A regular size fridge with freezer is furnished. Full sized gas stove and microwave directly over the stove makes for a very convenient working area in the kitchen. The other side of the duplex includes 2 bedrooms and is equally furnished and has a kitchen but does not include a fireplace. The 2 bedroom side is very outdated. The entire building can be rented as a 5 bedroom unit and there is a connecting door inside located on a shared wall with a bathroom and bedroom.

I would return with my family again.
